I forgot to take pictures of this piece as I was working on her. She is almost finished...still have to give her some wings and finish her base she will be sitting on. I wanted her to have a rustic look and I did not achieve that ...she is a little too dressed up for the garden...I tend to overdo.
The Butterfly Fairy is about 6". She is sculpted from Puppen Fimo and decorated with Angelina fiber and glass beads with a beaded hanger. Her wings are made with Fantasy Film over wire. She will eventually head to E-bay.
This container with the Fairy Snail on top of it will be traveling to Detroit, Michigan for the (Original Doll artist Council of America) ODACA Day Luncheon to be held on July 15, 2007. Along with other artist creations, she will be raffled off during the luncheon.
She is sculpted from Apoxie Sculpt and Fimo. There is a mosaic of ceramic tiles and sea shells on the lid of the container. The inside of the container has been covered with gold leaf. She is dressed in an antique lace and her head is covered with antique lace and irridescent glass seed beads. German glass glitter has been applied to her dress.
Look at this little baby Purple Martin. We put up a Martin House every year and always have occupants. It is a joy to listen to their noisy singing and watch them flying around catching insects. They usually arrive around February and are gone by July. We always hate to see them go because it gets so quiet.
The babies are learning to fly and they are all over the ground and in the bushes. This one was perched under a wooden glider in our back yard. He seemed perfectly content and in fact was taking a nap until I sat down by him to take his picture.
Please come, there will be a drawing for prizes by clicking on the "Enter Drawing" button on their home page and for each purchase made from the artists, your name will also be placed in the pot. Here is a picture of the two items I will have for sale.
"Reach for the Stars" is certainly an appropriate name for this metal hanging sculpture. The artist that designed and made this piece no longer makes them because he could not complete with all the imports.......what a shame!!!!!!!! I have several more of his pieces in my yard and love all of them.
This flower bed has really turned out pretty this year. The Bear's Breeches is in the back of the bed with those tall spikes of flowers. In the front of the bed are three plants of purple Fountain grass surrounded with white impatients. We also planted some small box wood around the edge with varigated Ajuga.
This little Baby Fairy Ornament is #4 in my ornament series. She is 6" long and sculpted from Puppen Fimo. I made her cap and chrysalis our of antique lace and embellished with micro beads and real German Glass Glitter. She hangs from a beaded wire.
