Natchez, MS. has an annual Balloon Festival and this year the weather was gorgeous and perfect for the balloons. It is 3 days of fun and festivities for all the family. My sister and her husband always come down and on Saturday we gather up out chairs, food and drink and head for the Mississippi River to watch the balloons. Our daughter and her husband are also always there. Here are a few pictures.

The Barge being held in place by the tug boat has a target that the pilot of the balloon will try to hit with his bean bag. The boats around the barge are for safety measures in case the balloon hits the water.
We are sitting on the Vidalia,La. side of the Mississippi River and that is a picture of Natchez high on the bluffs of the river as the balloons fly across the river.
The Mississippi River is extremely low right now and you can see a sand bar to the right of the picture. There are sunken barges they are trying to bring to the surface while the river is so low.
